Sandy Mill ep out now

Local singer Sandy Mill recently dropped her debut ep, A Piece Of Me (vinyl/digital). I've had the pleasure of working with her on several Dub Asylum songs, she is an amazing vocalist.

It's a slinky, soulful bunch of tunes, take a listen....current fave is track two, Light Of Day.

Via UTR: "A Piece Of Me spans hook-packed groovy numbers, slow-burning balladry and two upbeat remixes from Misled Convoy and Dean Webb.

Originally hailing from Gisbourne and of Ngati Porou descent, Mill performed alongside Don McGlashan and Sean Donnelly (SJD) in The Bellbirds, and has worked with the likes of local groups New Telepathics, Dub Asylum, and with international heavy hitters Basement Jaxx, Gary Numan, and more.

Mill is celebrating both the record's release and International Sauvignon Blanc Day on May 4  with her live band at Auckland's Lula Inn, and will be performing at the annual Borderline Music Festival in early June.

The new collection features a tonne of special guest collaborators, including Jeremy Toy (She's So Rad), Milan Borich (Pluto), Dianne Swann (The Bads), Darryn Harkness (New Telepathics), and the aforementioned Donnelly."

"Coinciding with the release of her new EP “A Piece of Me”, legendary New Zealand vocalist Sandy Mill, who has worked with Basement Jaxx, Boy George, Gary Numan, Neil Finn and others, has been announced as opening act for another legend, the US/UK ‘60s soul icon PP Arnold, who performs at the Powerstation Sunday May 20.

The first single of Sandy’s EP, “Giftbox” is inspired by the great singers of the 60’s and blends the power of American soul and the honesty of UK pop, which very much makes Sandy perfect company for PP."
