"So, vinyl is popular… but what records are people actually buying? Here are the top selling vinyl albums in the US for 2013 based on Nielsen Soundscan data. Just for context, the top selling album sold 49,000 units.
[the top selling album across all formats was Justin Timberlake's "The 20/20 Experience" which sold 2.43 million in 2013 and is the only album that sold more than 2 million copies this past year. Interestingly, #5 was released in 2010 and #7 was released in 2008.

ADDED: Via Mashable - vinyl album sales up 32% for 2013 in the US, while CD sales declined 14.5%. In units thats 165 million CDs, 118m digital, 6.1m vinyl.
