" ...The bright spot in the album sales picture continues to be vinyl LP sales, as the format grew 11.5 percent in the first half of the year, selling 6.2 million copies. That’s up from 5.6 million in the first half of 2015."

From Forbes: "As has been the case for a few years now, the one format that has experienced growth in 2016 is vinyl, which grew a whopping 17.3% over the same time period in 2015. That’s a large jump percentage-wise, but sadly it only reflects a growth of about 400,000 albums."
