1. Sharon Jones and the Dapkings live on Letterman, last week. Coming to NZ for Womad, March 14-16. Can't wait.
2. New Erykah Badu video, for Honey - She walks round a record store, pulling out albums, and Erykah's face appears on the covers singing her song (De La, Funkadelic, etc). Check the message at the end, very cool - "support your local record store". Love this clip.
3. Mos Def, Michel Gondry and Jean-Michel Bernard playing live at Sundance for Be Kind, Rewind screening. (Hat tip to The Playlist)

Hi Peter,
I saw the Daptones and Sharon King a few years ago when my partner Shuchi's short film got into the Montreal Film Festival. Fortuitously they were playing a free gig in one of the main city squares towards the end of the annual jazz festival. The band wore turbans and matching suits like those old 50s and 60s R&B and soul bands. They hummed along and Sharon could sure shimmy. Ms Dynamite.
Sorry Sharon Jones. Freudian slip. King Records. Maybe just dotage creeping in. Not the trainspotter I was.
